CCM expels 12 prominent cadres

The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) National Executive Committee (NEC) today expell a total of 12 members including its long serving and prominent cadres, Sophia Simba and Ramadhan Madabida.
The list of expelled cadres includes four party regional chairpersons, five district chairpersons and three members of NEC.
Also six members were stripped their titles, four given a warning and one forgiven after the party conducted a stiff investigation on him.
Briefing the journalists after the NEC meeting, the party’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary, Mr Humphrey Polepole, said the decision has been reached after the party bodies were satisfied with investigative reports on the members. Mr Polepole said the party has expelled, stripped titles and warned its members in various areas.
He said those who were involved in the matter are party’s regional and district chairpersons, members of NEC and leaders of CCM wings. He mentioned the members who expelled from the party as Special Seat MP and National Chairperson of CCM women wing (CWT), Ms Sophia Simba.
He said Ms Simba has been expelled from the party for sabotage and going against principles and regulations.
The regional chairmen who have been expelled include Mr Ramadhan Madabida (Dar es Salaam), Jesca Msabatavangu (Iringa), Erasto Kwirasa (Shinyanga) and Christopher Sanya (Mara).
Mr Polepole mentioned district chairperson who have been expelled as Omar Awadh (Gairo), Ali Msuya (Babati), Makolo Laizer (Longido), Salum Kondo Madenge (Kinondoni) and Wilfred Ole Soilo OLel (Arusha urban).
Other members who have been expelled include Maathias Mmaandaa (NEC member- Arumeru) and Ali Ela (NEC member-Babati urban).
Mr Polepole mentioned members who were stripped their ranks as Ajili Kalolo who was a NEC member for Tunduru, Hassan Mazalaa (Singida), Valeliaan Uleta (Kibaha rural) , Asa Simba (Ilala District-chairman) and Khamis Nguli (Singida urban).
Those who were warned are Ali Mchumo (Kilwa), Muhaji Bushako (Muleba), Josephine Gezabuke (Special Seat MP-Kigoma) and Emmanuel Nchimbi.
Mr Polepole said Mr Nchimbi has been warned for sabotaging the party, going against the party regulations and failure to support the party. He said the party understands that he is now a Ambassador of Tanzania to Brazil and that he is supposed to write an apology letter as soon as possible to the party.
“We understand that Mr Nchimbi is now in Brazil representing Tanzania as a high commissioner, but the party wants him to write an apology letter for what he did to the party. He must do so as soon as possible,” he said.
Mr Polepole added that the party has forgiven Dodoma regional party chairman, Mr Adam Kimbisa after the party was satisfied with his behavior. “He was in the list, but for the time the party conducted investigation on him, revealed that he has changed and he is now obeying the party’s orders as required,” said Mr Polepole.
According to Mr Polepole, the decision that have been passed and approved by NEC members are final and there will be no chance to appeal.
"These people have been warned several times, therefore this time around the party has decided to move forward without them, we are here to revive and reform the party, we are taking serious actions," he said.
Meanwhile the party has formed a team to investigate the state of politics and election trends in Zanzibar.
The team will be led by CCM’s deputy chairmaan (mainland) Mr Philip Maangula. According to Mr Polepole, after the investigation, it is most likely, some members from Zanzibar will be expelled, stripped their titles or warned.
Other members of the team include former Speaker of Zanzibar House of Representatives, Mr Pandu Ameir Kificho, Daud Ismail, Suleimaan Safarani, Stephen Wassira, Zakhia Megji, Khadija saleh Ngozi, Maua Daftari and Shamsi Vuai Nahodha.
