Commitment to anti-drug crusade to filter CCM candidates
CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) members have been advised to assess candidates using their commitment to the fight against illicit drugs as one of the key criteria to elect leaders in the upcoming party general elections.
CCM Deputy Secretary General, Zanzibar, Vuai Ali Vuai issued the advice here yesterday when laying the foundation stone for the construction of zealot branch at Fuoni, insisting that the war against drugs and gender violence was a national issue.
“Any CCM member willing to vie for a post in the upcoming party elections, must exhibit commitment to the cru sade against corruption, illicit drugs and gender violence,” Mr Vuai said, appealing to the party fans and members to ensure only credible and hardworking assume leadership positions.
He showered praises on the current national leaders, especially Dr John Magufuli and Dr Ali Mohamed Shein, whom he appreciated for their exemplary performance in implementation of the 2015 election manifesto.
“We have to work together to stop the enemies of development: corruption, drugs, and abuses against children and Women... let us stand as one,” Mr Vuai said, describing drugs as a weapon of mass destruction.
