Parliamentary resumes business after security scare
The Parliamentary activities resumed at 12.03 PM after they were prematurely halted at around 11.04 AM following security alarm rang for over six minutes.
Security officers directed the MPs to return to the debating chamber at around 11.30 PM but the house’s business resumed at around 12.03 PM as most of the MPs were afraid of returning for safety concerns.
Speaking after resumption of the House activities the National Assembly speaker Mr Job Ndugai said security officers were still investigating the reasons behind the alarm break-out.
“I just want to offer my sincerely apologies for what has just happened…. as for now the security officers are still investigating the matter,” said Mr Ndugai.
