PRESIDENT OF GAMBIA: NONE OF THE DEPOSED ME OUT, MAYBE GOD ALONE
Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has
said that he will refuse any attempt by local leaders of the West African force
him to leave office despite the defeat in the elections and his rival, Adama
Barrow.
Addressing members of the Union in
the country Mr. Jammeh said: "Waje tried to remove me awaiting what? I am
a lover of peace, but it does not mean that I will not be powerfully defended
my country, for the courage and patriotism and emerge victorious. "
"I'm not a rebel, my right can
not be manipulated. This is my chance, no one can remove me maybe God, "he
said.
He said that he refused to call the
United States of Western leaders, including the ECOWAS President of Nigeria
Muhammadu Buhari and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia to leave the country Gambia.
" 'Who are they to tell me I
have to leave my country," he said and accused the authorities to
intervene within Gambia.
ECOWAS has already said it would be
know Mr. Barrow as President of the nation and that will take any steps to
ensure that the election results are respected.
Local leaders will attend the
swearing in Mr. Barrow on January 18 According to the statement of Ecowas.
President Jammeh initially had
accepted the results of the election on December 1, 2016 but was later called
for fresh elections and the prepared electoral commission who pay God on the
grounds that the election results which have a lot of defect.
